City of Lover 2020
City of Lover is a 2019 one-off concert event by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, taking place at the Olympia in Paris, France, on September 9, 2019. This performance occurred just over two weeks following the release of Swift’s seventh studio album, Lover. Fans who attended were those who had acquired tickets through online contests or by purchasing the album. The show featured a set list of 16 songs, including eight from Lover and eight from other albums in Swift's discography. The concert lasted one hour and marked the only live performance Swift conducted to promote Lover after canceling her planned tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On May 17, 2020, a television special titled Taylor Swift: City of Lover was aired on ABC in the United States. This broadcast, filmed during the concert, included only the eight songs from Lover and ran for 42 minutes, including advertisements. The event and its accompanying TV special garnered positive feedback from media outlets, praising Swift’s stage presence and connection with the audience. Nevertheless, some reviewers criticized the TV version for featuring only half of the original set list instead of all sixteen songs. Observers also noted that performing at the Olympia—a venue holding 2,000 people—was an unusual choice for Swift after her 2018 Reputation Stadium Tour, which filled much larger venues. The special was made available on Hulu and Disney+ starting May 16, 2020, for a limited time. Additionally, the performance of Lover songs was compiled into a live album titled Lover (Live from Paris), released on February 14, 2023.
