The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a 2021 American television miniseries produced by Marvel Studios for the streaming platform Disney+. It was created by Malcolm Spellman and adapted from material featuring Sam Wilson / Falcon and Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier. This second MCU television production shares continuity with the cinematic universe and takes place six months after the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), where Sam Wilson assumed the role of Captain America. The series follows Wilson as he partners with Barnes to confront anti-patriots who claim the world was better before the Blip.

Spellman served as head writer, focusing on themes of race and politics related to Wilson's appointment as Captain America. The series was directed by Kari Skogland. Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie return in their roles as Barnes and Wilson respectively, supported by a cast including Wyatt Russell, Erin Kellyman, Danny Ramirez, Georges St-Pierre, Adepero Oduye, Don Cheadle, Daniel Brühl, Emily VanCamp, Florence Kasumba, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Marvel Studios began developing multiple limited series for Disney+ in September 2018, with Wilson and Barnes among the characters chosen. Spellman was brought on in October, deciding to explore racial dynamics surrounding Wilson's new position. The project was officially announced in April 2019, with confirmation of Stan and Mackie’s involvement. Skogland was hired as director shortly after.

Filming commenced in October 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia, later moving to the Czech Republic in March 2020. Production faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic but resumed in Atlanta in September and concluded in October in the Czech Republic. The series premiered on March 19, 2021 and concluded after six episodes on April 23, forming part of Phase Four of the MCU. Critics praised the show’s acting and its commentary on social issues, though some noted pacing problems. It earned five Primetime Emmy Award nominations. A follow-up film, Captain America: Brave New World (2025), continues Wilson's narrative from the series.
