Only Murders in the Building 2021
Only Murders in the Building is a 2021 American mystery comedy-drama series produced by Steve Martin and John Hoffman. The show stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as three strangers who share a passion for true crime podcasts. These characters live in the Arconia, an upscale Manhattan apartment building on the Upper West Side, where they encounter multiple murders. While solving these cases, they also produce their own podcast called Only Murders in the Building. The series consists of five seasons that launched on Hulu, August 2021, June 2022, August 2023, August 2024, and September 2025. In October 2025, the show was extended for a sixth season under the name Only Murders in London, scheduled to air on December 8, 2026.
Critics have praised the series since its release, especially noting its unique blend of humor and mystery. The show has been recognized with nominations including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series and the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. Individual actors Martin, Short, and Gomez have earned acting nods at both the Emmy and Golden Globe ceremonies. Additionally, the fourth season’s cast received the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
