Happiness (South Korean TV series) 2021
Happiness is a 2021 South Korean television series created by Studio Dragon and featuring Han Hyo-joo, Park Hyung-sik, and Jo Woo-jin. The apocalyptic thriller depicts a world where infectious diseases have become commonplace. The show aired on tvN every Friday and Saturday at 22:40 (KST) from November 5 to December 11, 2021. It can be streamed internationally through Viki, Viu, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Max, and iQIYI in select regions.
Although it received moderate viewership during its initial broadcast, Happiness gained significant popularity after its release on streaming services in April 2022. Its rise was fueled by positive reviews, strong performances from the main actors, and effective handling of the zombie genre. The series climbed to rank seven on Netflix's Weekly Global Top 10 for non-English TV shows.
As a result of its success, Han Hyo-joo was nominated for Best Leading Actress and Popular Star Award at the 2022 Blue Dragon Series Awards, ultimately winning the Popular Star Award. A webtoon adaptation titled Happiness began serialization on Naver Webtoon from November 12, 2021 to May 27, 2022.
