Willow 2022
Willow is an American fantasy adventure television series that follows the 1988 film of the same name. Warwick Davis, who played Willow Ufgood in the original movie, returned for the TV show. Val Kilmer did not reprise his role as Madmartigan; instead, his son Jack Kilmer provided voice work for a brief cameo. The production was handled by Lucasfilm, with most of the filming taking place in Wales during April 2021. It debuted on the streaming platform Disney+ on November 30, 2022.
The show was officially ended in March 2023 after just one season, although Jonathan Kasdan mentioned that it had been put on hold rather than fully concluded. Kasdan indicated that Season 2 was already completed and hoped it would still be produced. Media outlets reported the cancellation happened when companies like Disney+ were trying to cut expenses for streaming shows to improve profits. The series was removed from Disney+ on May 26, 2023, during a wave of content deletions involving Disney+ and Hulu, as part of Disney's cost-reduction strategy led by CEO Bob Iger.
