The Sandman is an American fantasy drama television series adapted from the 1989–1996 comic book created by Neil Gaiman and released by DC Comics. The show was crafted for the streaming platform Netflix by Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg, with production handled by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television. The series follows the narrative of Dream / Morpheus, known as the Sandman. Tom Sturridge portrays the main character, supported by Boyd Holbrook, Vivienne Acheampong, and Patton Oswalt.

Work on bringing The Sandman to the big screen started in 1991 but faced numerous delays. In 2013, Goyer proposed a movie version to Warner Bros., with Goyer and Gaiman attached as producers and Joseph Gordon-Levitt signed on to play the lead role and potentially direct. Gordon-Levitt left the project due to creative disagreements in 2016. Because of the long delay in film development, Warner Bros. redirected its efforts toward a television version. Netflix agreed to develop the series in June 2019, with principal photography running from October 2020 to August 2021. Critics responded favorably, praising the casting, production design, costumes, loyalty to the original material, visual effects, and acting.

The Sandman debuted on August 5, 2022, with 10 episodes released at once. A special episode was made available on August 19. The series was ordered for a second season in November 2022, which began with two parts on July 3 and 24, 2025, ending with a special episode on July 31. In January 2025, it was confirmed that the show would conclude after the second season.
