Citizen Vigilante 2026
Citizen Vigilante is a 2026 action-thriller film made by Uwe Boll, who also wrote and directed it. Armie Hammer plays Michael Sanders, a vigilante driven by anger over the collapse of law and order. Sanders attacks criminals and rapists, mostly targeting migrants, along with the corrupt officials shielding them.
The independently produced movie debuted in select North American theaters and online on June 19, 2026, with a British release confirmed for early July. Critics responded negatively, faulting the storyline, execution, and its apparent anti-immigrant tone. However, some right-wing and far-right commentators offered praise.
Germany's FSK gave the film an “18+” rating for cinema showings. For home viewing, the FSK declined to rate it even after a third review, due to stricter regulations for video releases. Elon Musk promoted the film and made it free on X for two days. It became available in Germany on October 7 via Amazon Prime and Apple TV.
