Thanksgiving 2023
A 2023 American slasher film, Thanksgiving follows a killer in a John Carver mask terrorizing a small Massachusetts town during the Thanksgiving holiday. This occurs one year after a Black Friday riot ended in tragedy. The movie was directed by Eli Roth and features a screenplay written by Jeff Rendell, with both creators also producing the project alongside Roger Birnbaum. It draws inspiration from a fictional trailer featured in Grindhouse (2007). Starring Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman, and Gina Gershon, the film was released in the United States by TriStar Pictures (through Sony Pictures Releasing) on November 17, 2023. Critics responded positively, and it earned $46.6 million globally against a $15 million budget. A sequel is currently being developed.
