A 2023 American romantic crime comedy film, Hit Man is produced and directed by Richard Linklater, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Glen Powell. The movie features Powell, Adria Arjona, Austin Amelio, Retta, and Sanjay Rao in starring roles. It tells the story of an undercover New Orleans police contractor pretending to be a trustworthy hitman while attempting to rescue a woman in distress. The central idea originated from the real-life account of a college professor who worked for Houston police in the late 1980s and 1990s as a fictional hitman, detailed in a 2001 magazine piece by Skip Hollandsworth.

The film made its debut at the 80th Venice International Film Festival on September 5, 2023. It opened in limited U.S. theaters on May 24, 2024, followed by a streaming release through Netflix on June 7, earning widespread critical praise.
