Biographical dramaHistorical dramaIndependent
Monument represents a 2026 American historical drama penned by Alena Alova and helmed by director Bryan Singer. Starring Joseph Mazzello and Jon Voight as actual Israeli architects Amnon and Yaakov Rechter, the movie also features Ori Pfeffer, Alon Abutbul, Igal Naor, and Aviv Pinkas.
The story unfolds in 1999 across southern Lebanon and Israel, depicting father-son architects commissioned by the Israeli government and South Lebanon Army to construct a disputed war memorial commemorating deceased Christian fighters.
Bryan Singer, who previously directed X-Men and Bohemian Rhapsody, created this first film in eight years following a career hiatus after sexual abuse accusations. Production occurred in Greece during late 2023.
Monument premiered on March 20, 2026 in New York City and Somerset County, New Jersey. This "surprise film" garnered minimal advertising or promotional efforts.
