Minions & Monsters is a 2026 American animated comedy directed by Pierre Coffin, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Brian Lynch. The production was handled by Universal Pictures and Illumination, making it the third entry in the Minions prequel series and the seventh overall within the Despicable Me franchise. The voice cast includes Coffin as the Minions, along with Trey Parker, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Bridges, Zoey Deutch, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr. Set in 1927 between silent and sound film eras, the story takes place 41 years before events in Minions (2015) and 49 years before Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022). It depicts a group of Minions attempting to create their own monster movie in Old Hollywood.

The project was revealed in July 2024, following the release of Despicable Me 4, with Coffin and Lynch returning for directing and writing roles respectively, while Chris Meledandri served as producer alongside Bill Ryan. John Powell composed the soundtrack, marking his third collaboration with Illumination after The Lorax (2012) and Migration (2023), and the first Despicable Me film not to feature Heitor Pereira's score.

Minions & Monsters made its debut at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 21, 2026, followed by a theatrical release in the United States on July 1 through Universal Pictures. Critics responded positively, often calling it the best since the original Despicable Me. Though it earned less than previous films, the movie still proved commercially successful, collecting $527 million globally and becoming the ninth highest-grossing film of 2026.
