Following Luca (2021), Casarosa initiated development of his subsequent original Pixar film, with the project being unveiled in October 2022. The motion picture received its official title Gatto in June 2025, while initial casting details emerged the subsequent year. This production combines 2D hand-painted techniques with computer animation.
