A 2017 American supernatural horror film, Rings is the third entry in The Ring series and directly follows the 2002 movie while bypassing The Ring Two from 2005. This film uses elements from the novel Spiral by Kōji Suzuki and was written by David Loucka, Jacob Aaron Estes, and Akiva Goldsman, with direction by F. Javier Gutiérrez. Starring Matilda Lutz as a young woman cursed to die within seven days after discovering a terrifying object, the movie also features Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan, and Vincent D'Onofrio in supporting roles.

Paramount Pictures had first envisioned a third film titled The Ring 3D in early 2014, with Gutiérrez directing and Loucka and Estes writing. Later, Goldsman joined as co-writer and the title changed to Rings. Principal photography commenced in March 2015 in Atlanta, wrapping in May of that year, with additional scenes filmed in July 2016.

Released in the United States on February 3, 2017 by Paramount Pictures, Rings garnered mostly negative reviews from critics but performed well at the box office, earning $83 million globally against a $25 million budget.
