Geostorm is a 2017 American science-fiction action disaster film that marks Dean Devlin's first time directing a feature film. This movie was co-written and co-produced by Dean Devlin as well. The cast includes Gerard Butler, Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish, Ed Harris, and Andy García. It tells the story of a satellite designer attempting to prevent global destruction from an enormous storm triggered by faulty climate-control satellites.

Principal photography started on October 20, 2014 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Due to negative reactions during early screenings, additional filming occurred in December 2016 with executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer, writer Laeta Kalogridis, and new director Danny Cannon overseeing the project. This film represents the sole collaboration between Skydance Media and Warner Bros. Pictures.

The movie premiered in the United States on October 20, 2017 across all formats. It failed significantly at the box office, earning just $223.4 million globally despite a budget ranging from $120 to 130 million dollars, resulting in a loss for Warner Bros. $71.6 million. Critics widely criticized the film for confusing plotlines, weak character development, and uninspired visual effects.
