A 2017 American animated comedy-drama adventure film, Ferdinand was directed by Carlos Saldanha and features voice acting from John Cena, Kate McKinnon, Bobby Cannavale, Peyton Manning, Anthony Anderson, David Tennant, Gina Rodriguez, Daveed Diggs, Gabriel Iglesias, and Miguel Ángel Silvestre. It is loosely adapted from Munro Leaf and Robert Lawson's 1936 children’s book The Story of Ferdinand and was produced by 20th Century Fox Animation, Blue Sky Studios, and Davis Entertainment. The narrative centers on a peaceful bull named Ferdinand (Cena), who escapes a bullfighting ranch, settles at a flower farm, is later captured and returned to the ranch, and must confront tradition while leading an unlikely group on a dangerous trek through Spain to regain freedom and return home.

The film had its premiere in Los Angeles on December 10, 2017 and opened theatrically in the United States on December 15, 2017 under the banner of 20th Century Fox. Although it received mixed reviews from critics and underperformed at the box office domestically, Ferdinand succeeded internationally, earning $307 million globally against a production cost of $111 million. It was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 90th Academy Awards and received additional nods at the 75th Golden Globe Awards, including Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Song ("Home").
