Actor Shepard plays Officer Jon Baker while Michael Peña portrays Frank "Ponch" Poncherello, with Rosa Salazar, Adam Brody, and Vincent D'Onofrio appearing in supporting parts. Principal filming started on 21 October 2015 in Los Angeles. The movie had its premiere at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles on March 20, 2017, followed by a general release on March 24 through Warner Bros. Pictures.
