Without Remorse 2021
A 2021 American action thriller film, Without Remorse, also titled Tom Clancy's Without Remorse, was directed by Stefano Sollima and written by Taylor Sheridan and Will Staples. It is based on the 1993 novel by Tom Clancy. The movie features Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, Jodie Turner-Smith, Luke Mitchell, Jack Kesy, Brett Gelman, Lauren London, Colman Domingo and Guy Pearce. In the story, John Kelly, a U.S. Navy SEAL, pursues vengeance after his wife and fellow unit members are murdered by Russian assassins.
Development of the film began shortly after the novel's release in 1993, with Keanu Reeves and Tom Hardy both considered for the role of John Kelly. After more than 20 years of development delays, Jordan was cast as the lead in September 2018, while Sheridan was brought in to rewrite a script initially crafted in the 1990s. Principal photography commenced in Berlin during October 2019 and concluded production in October 2020.
Originally produced for a theatrical debut by Paramount Pictures, the film was postponed and later purchased by Amazon Studios, who opted to release it digitally on Prime Video on April 30, 2021. Critics offered mixed feedback, highlighting Jordan's acting, action scenes and production quality, though they deemed the overall film unremarkable.
