Man of Tomorrow represents an upcoming American superhero motion picture centered on characters from DC Comics, specifically Superman and Lex Luthor. The project is penned and led by James Gunn, marking the fourth entry within the DC Universe (DCU) and functioning as a sequel to Superman (2025). David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult return in their respective portrayals of Clark Kent / Superman and Lex Luthor, while Rachel Brosnahan, Edi Gathegi, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Frank Grillo, María Gabriela de Faría, Sara Sampaio, and Milly Alcock also appear. New additions to the cast include Lars Eidinger, Aaron Pierre, and Xolo Maridueña. Within the storyline, Superman and Luthor find themselves forced into collaboration against a more formidable adversary—the superintelligent Brainiac, played by Eidinger. The production is handled by Gunn along with Peter Safran from DC Studios.
In June 2025, Gunn disclosed that he was developing a continuation to the initial DCU film, Superman, prior to its release in the subsequent month. The film’s title and early details were unveiled during September, followed by Eidinger's casting as Brainiac in December. Leading up to production commencement, further DCU performers were announced to return in their roles. Principal photography occurred between April and August 2026, mainly at Trilith Studios located in Atlanta, Georgia, plus locations in the United Kingdom and Cincinnati, Ohio.
The film is set for distribution in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on July 9, 2027. It forms part of DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
