No Time to Die is a 2021 spy thriller film and the twenty-fifth entry in the James Bond series, produced by Eon Productions. As the sequel to Spectre (2015), it marks the fifth and final film featuring Daniel Craig as the fictional British MI6 agent James Bond. In this installment, Bond has stepped away from active duty with MI6 and is pulled back into service by the CIA to rescue a kidnapped scientist who holds deadly DNA-targeting nanobots. This mission leads him to discover a scheme orchestrated by the bioterrorist Lyutsifer Safin aimed at killing millions of people. The movie was directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, who co-wrote the screenplay with Neal Purvis and Robert Wade and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, based on an original story developed by Purvis, Wade, and Fukunaga. Besides Craig, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, and Rory Kinnear reprise their previous roles, while Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen, Ana de Armas, David Dencik, and Dali Benssalah take on new characters.

Work on the film started in 2016. Danny Boyle was initially set to direct and co-author the screenplay alongside John Hodge. However, both left in August 2018 due to creative disagreements, and Fukunaga was named as Boyle’s replacement a month later. Most of the cast had committed by April 2019, with principal filming running from April through October 2019. No Time to Die is the only James Bond film starring Daniel Craig that was not co-produced by Columbia Pictures, a result of an expired agreement between Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Sony. Additionally, it is the first Bond movie distributed by United Artists Releasing, a partnership between MGM and Annapurna Pictures. It also stands as the final film in the franchise released under MGM before the studio was acquired by Amazon in 2022. Billie Eilish sang the theme song, “No Time to Die,” while Hans Zimmer composed the musical score, with Steve Mazzaro serving as score producer.

Following delays caused by Boyle’s departure and later the COVID-19 pandemic, No Time to Die held its premiere at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 28 September 2021. It was then released in the United Kingdom on 30 September and in the United States on 8 October. Critics responded positively to the film, which grossed over $774 million worldwide. It became the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2021, the third-highest-grossing Bond film, and the third-highest-grossing film (and third-highest Bond film) in UK history. The movie was nominated for three awards at the 94th Academy Awards, winning Best Original Song, and received various other honors.

On 20 February 2025, Amazon MGM Studios announced it had taken complete creative control of the James Bond franchise from Danjaq and Eon Productions. This made No Time to Die the final film in the series to be produced under the leadership of Albert R. Broccoli, Michael G. Wilson, or Barbara Broccoli.
