Antlers 2021
Horror thrillerSupernatural horrorSupernatural thriller
A 2021 supernatural horror film, Antlers stars Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons, Jeremy T. Thomas, Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane, and Amy Madigan. Scott Cooper both directed and co-wrote the movie, which is based on Nick Antosca's short story "The Quiet Boy". The plot centers on a school teacher who believes one of her students faces difficulties at home, unaware that the child is hiding a malevolent demon.
The film's announcement came in July 2018, with Cooper set to direct and casting confirmed the following month. Principal photography occurred in British Columbia during October and November 2018. Antlers made its debut at Beyond Fest on October 11, 2021 before opening in U.S. theaters on October 29, 2021 through Searchlight Pictures. Originally scheduled for an April 2020 release, the film faced two postponements because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Critics responded with mixed views, applauding the cinematography, performances and horror aspects, while finding fault with the script.
