Thank Goodness You're Here! is a 2024 comedy adventure game that was developed by Coal Supper and published by Panic. The game takes place in the fictional town of Barnsworth, located in the North of England. Players control an unnamed, yellow, and very small salesman character as they move through the area and assist residents with their various issues. Interaction in the game is primarily done via slapping objects or characters, which functions as a universal method for engaging with the environment. Coal Supper is a two-person indie studio based in Yorkshire, consisting of programmer Will Todd and artist James Carbutt. They initially began working on the project in 2019 as a collection of sketch comedy scenes merged with intricate puzzles. Over time, they simplified the structure by removing puzzle mechanics to emphasize humor instead. Their creative process involved designing humorous characters and scenarios, which were then assembled into a town inspired by their hometown of Barnsley. Panic was chosen as publisher early in development, and the game was first revealed during August 2023.
Thank Goodness You're Here! launched on 1 August 2024 for macOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows, coinciding with Yorkshire Day. It later became available for Xbox Series X/S on 9 December 2025. Reviews were generally favorable, praising its visual style, creative design, and comedic tone. Some criticism came from players who found the gameplay mechanics too basic and the overall experience too brief. The game earned the British Game award at the 21st British Academy Games Awards, and was also nominated for five additional awards, including Best Game, Animation, and Debut Game. It received further recognition and nods at other events, such as Best Indie Game at the 42nd Golden Joystick Awards and the Seumas McNally Grand Prize at the 23rd Independent Games Festival Awards.
