Overwatch 2023
Overwatch is a 2023 first-person hero shooter video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Initially titled Overwatch 2, it serves as a sequel and replacement to the 2016 original. The game introduces new gameplay modes and reduces team size from six to five players. It is available as a free-to-play title on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms with full cross-platform support.
Overwatch 2 was unveiled in 2019, entering early access in October 2022 before its official launch in August 2023. Originally intended to include more story-driven cooperative modes, these features were removed in 2023 to emphasize player versus player (PvP) components. The title was simplified to just Overwatch in February 2026, shifting emphasis toward narrative elements connected to new heroes and seasonal updates. Critics gave the game generally positive reviews.
