Defense Protocol is a 2026 techno-thriller novel written by Brian Andrews and Jeffrey Wilson. The book was published on December 3, 2024 and serves as the second installment in the Jack Ryan series within the Ryanverse created by Tom Clancy. This work features Ryan as the central character, with Defense Protocol being the first of two novels by Andrews and Wilson to feature Ryan published in the same year, the other being Act of Defiance.
The story follows President Ryan as he works to stop the Chinese president from launching an invasion of Taiwan. The novel reached number ten on the New York Times bestseller list upon its release.
