We'll Never Tell 2023
We'll Never Tell is a young adult mystery novel written by Wendy Heard and released by Hachette Book Group in 2020. The story centers on a group of teenagers who enter an empty mansion in Los Angeles to shoot a video for their secret YouTube channel.
Set during the final year of high school, the novel recounts what happens after one member of the group is killed during their exploration. Topics covered include the way violent crimes are exploited for attention and the hidden dangers behind the allure of acting.
The novel uses shifting viewpoints that alternate between past and present timelines. It includes inserts such as fictional news articles and magazine stories. Wendy Heard has noted that the plot was influenced by the actual 'Loz Feliz Murder House' case, which involves a well-known 1959 alleged murder-suicide incident.
